Playing catch up

I am going to try to catch up my blog:

June 2

I finally got all my Thank You notes finished for graduation gifts.  Maybe I will get them mailed this week.

Spencer had a make-up ballgame.  All the boys played excellent.  Spencer hit two in the park home runs :)  After the game Spencer had a friend come over & spend the night.

Spencer's Ballgame-June 2nd Challenge-I am going to try to work on my actions shots more. (no editing today)

June 3

Our Girl Scout troop has passed out medallions, flowers & balloon's to the survivors for the last three years.  It is one of my most favorite things to do with the Girls.  It is a wonderful feeling to see the girls giving back to the community.

Morgan & Spencer were on a Relay team this year for the first time.  They had a blast at the campsite.  They played baseball, kickball, bounced in the bounce houses, walked/ran laps & painted faces.  We ended up staying until about 3:00 am.  I was glad to be home in my WARM bed :)  Here are a few pictures from Relay.

June 4

We slept in this morning....we all must have been really tired.  I HAD to wake Spencer up at 11:15 because he was still snoozing ;)

I submitted my applicant for my KBN (Kentucky Board of Nursing) License, NCLEX (state board test) & my criminal background check all today.  Now all I have left to do is send my FBI fingerprint background check in.  This should be a fun & interesting week trying to get everything ready for next Monday...but it is all starting to come together :)

This afternoon we went to a friend's house to swim.  We had a BLAST.  The kids got water logged.  We grilled out hot dogs & I found my NEW LOVE TODAY....white chocolate chip brownies (where have you been all my life???)  I will be making these at home...they were delicious :-D  The kids were worn out & slept all the way home.  I guess they are still tired from last night....maybe that would explain their mood all day.  They have been grouchy, fighting & arguing all day...hopefully tomorrow will be better :-D  Here are a few pictures from today.

Randomness ;)

This is probably the most expensive piece of paper I will ever recieve.  I was happy to see it come in the mail today =)

This was probably one of my most favorite quotes from nursing school....and oh so TRUE!!!
‎"Cost of nursing education cannot be measured by the money alone; there is another price paid in blood, sweat, tears & stress"

For those of you who went through the journey with me, you know all too well that that says it all.  I know it was the hardest thing I have EVER done in my life and I am VERY PROUD!!!!

Thank goodness the storms weren't very bad last night.  I am terrified of storms, therefore I wasn't going to sleep until they were OVER.  The kids piled up in my bed & were out like lights.

We all over slept this morning after staying up to ride out the storms.  Today was field day at school & by the time we got there Morgan's class was fixing to start....glad we didn't miss it.  I enjoyed spending the day watching all the kids participate in the activities.  They were all full of energy & excited.  They had to move field day to the gym because of the weather, but the kids seemed to enjoy it & there were some good laughs from kids slipping & sliding on the gym floor.

Tonight was our Girl Scout Troop 2173 Pizza Party.  It seems like it has been FOREVER since we have had a meeting and I guess it really has.  We didn't get to have our last meeting because there was a lot of things going on...Missy had just had a baby & I was trying to get everything ready for graduation.  It is hard to believe that all that chaos was going on...just two weeks ago!

After the pizza party the kids were off to Nanny & Pa's for the night.  This is what they were doing when I left.

Butterflies for Maddie

Saturday was the annual Butterflies for Maddie 5K.  Last year our Girl Scout troop participated in the 1/2 mile kids run.  This year the girls wanted to walk the 5K & with Missy (our leader) being pregnant I volunteered to walk the 5K with the girls.  Morgan & I walked the 5K.  I don't have any pictures during the walk because I wanted to have pictures of us crossing the finish line.  We completed the 5K in less than 1 hour.  I was VERY proud!

Morgan & I crossing the finish line

Morgan & Spencer both did the 1/2 mile kids fun run.

The kids get a metal for running the kids run.

The Girl Scout get a patch for participating.  This year the patches were super cute :)

The kids had a great time even though the weather was nasty.  During the walk the weather was just cold & cloudy.  When the kids started the fun run it started raining.  The kids ran in the rain.  When the run was over we left because we were all freezing.  The kids are already talking about walking the 5K next year.  This is a awesome fundraiser for a great cause.  If you have never heard of this organization check out the website for more information.

Sunday I did my seventh day of practicum.  Only 3 more days left to go!  WOO HOO!

Three weeks from today is FINALS!!!!  I am ready for a break!  Tomorrow is test day.  I hope the teachers have mercy on our souls.  Between practicum, NCLEX prep plan, journal entries, assignments & lecture I haven't had time to study.  Please keep all Nursing 250 students in your thoughts & prayers.

My creative mom has started a new creation.  Here are a few of the stethoscope covers she has started making.  I LOVE them.  They are so comfortable.  She is selling them for $5.00 each.  If anyone is interested in them let me know.  These are just a few of the designs.

I am still waiting to hear about the job at MCBG.  Now I got to get back to studying...

MIA...Disney on Ice

Well test day is coming up Tuesday so I have been MIA (missing in action).

I ended up having to take Spencer to the doctor Friday...the verdict was he had strep. No school for him = NO study group for me Friday.

Saturday was "STUDY" day! I really don't feel like I am ready for a test on Tuesday...therefor there will be A LOT of cramming Monday!!!!

Today we went to see Disney on Ice at Rupp Arena with some of my Girl Scout girlies & parents. It wasn't what I was expecting it to be...it was AMAZING!!!! No matter how old you get you can always use some Disney magic! It was a much needed break from studying & we made lots of life long memories! Here are a few pictures.

LAST day of Girl Scout CoOkIeS & FIRST day of spring :)

Today was the LAST day of Girl Scout Cookie Sales...WOO HOO. We sat up at Walmart and sold over 100 boxes. We still have about 100 boxes left to sale, so if you still need cookies you can contact me. Here are a few pictures from the booth sale.

Morgan was dancing as usual.

I don't think I have ever blogged on my "favorite" Girl Scout cookies. These are my favorite...Dulce de Leche. The 1st year they came out they were amazing. They were a full size cookie with carmel drizzled over them, but apparently when they got hot they were melting together. So the 2nd year they came out with mini ones & they don't have the carmel drizzle. They are still my favorite though.

The beautiful clouds on the 1st day of Spring

After selling cookies for 4 hours we headed to the park to play. After playing we went to McDonald's & they played on the playground after they ate their supper.

After we got home Spencer decided he was ready for his head to be shaved for the season. He has been wanting it shaved for several weeks, but I knew we would have more chilly days. He would wear his head shaved all year if I would let him. Here is a picture.

Hopefully in the next few weeks we can get some family pictures taken. The weather is perfect right now...if I could just find time to do them.

Morgan enjoys selling cookies...just hope she doesn't get burnt out before all the cookies are gone. Last year we dat up about everyday but this year we are only sitting up on the weekends. Here are some pictures from the trunk sale.

WKU Dance Clinic

This is the 2nd year our Girl Scout Troop has done the dance clinic. This year no one was interested in doing it except Missy's kids & Morgan, so we decided to take them. They love doing this every year. Here are a few pictures.
