Oh How Pinteresting Wednesday (5/23/12)

Well it has been a while since I have linked up with Michelle at The Vintage Apple for

But I am back.  I have been trying to get my blog caught up from the wedding & honeymoon (major FAIL, but still working on it.)   The kids are now out of school so when I am not working there is a houseful of kids here :)  We have been staying busy since we got back from Vegas.  We celebrated two of the girl's birthday's this weekend with a cookout at the house.  So here are my favorite pins for the week...

We went to Las Vegas on our Honeymoon.  We stayed 5 days/4 nights.  It was a little too long for me.  There were some beautiful buildings & sites to see, but it was a totally different world out there.

This was the pool at our motel...MGM Grand.  They had 3 pools & a lazy river.  We spent a little time in the lazy river.

We did a little gambling while we were there, but we didn't win anything big.

With summer time here I will definitely be trying this recipe for one of our cook-outs.

I am taking a "Leap of Faith"...I put my notice in at work this week.  I don't have another job yet, but am going job hunting full force this week.  It is time for me to move on to something else.  I LOVE my job & occupation, but the 80 miles drive one way has finally gotten the best of me.  Gas prices keep rising & having to spend so much time commuting cut into my time at home with my family.  I have said many prayers about this.  I have faith that everything will work out!!!

I got a head start... HERE is one WEDDING POST
2.  Find a JOB!!!!!!

Playing Catch up

Trying to get my blog caught up today.  Didn't get it all finished, but got a start on it.  I will try to finish it up tomorrow.  Still have the wedding & part of the honeymoon to document.

8 days (4-28-12)  http://half-a-dozen-kids.blogspot.com/2012/04/8-days.html

The kids are on summer break now & with five kids here half the week it can be hectic at times. They are all old enough & capable of picking up after themselves & helping keep this house functional. Sometimes they get a little lazy sometimes though or they just think someone should pick up after them all the time. So today we made a responsibility chart for the house. So far they love it. They have daily jobs that have to be done in the morning & at night plus they have reminders to pick up after themselves throughout the day so it's not as much work at night. They also each have two jobs that will change weekly through rotation. They each got to pick their jobs today through a random drawing & we will keep those jobs together through the rotations. I think the favorite job on the list is "supper helper" & Harley is proud to have that job this week. Also on their board is their bath schedule & tv schedule. This way their will be no more arguing over who is going to take a bath first/next or who gets the tv remote each night.

Today while we were sitting in the living room watching TV Peanut started barking & wouldn't stop. I kept telling him to hush but he just kept barking. I got up to see what he was barking at and this is what I saw....

The kids & I were terrified. I hate snakes & Bobby was at work so I called him. He said to go to the neighbors and have him come kill him. He came down here & didn't have anything to kill him with so he got a stick, but the snake got away. He was pretty big. The kids were scared to go back outside until Bobby got home.

Honeymoon in Vegas (5/10/12)

Today we just relaxed.  We spent a few hours at the pool and the rest of the day in the room.  It was HOT...97 degree's.  We did walk to the store to get something to drink and saw some more strange people stand out for tips.

For supper we headed to Hooter's.  It was really good...probably some of the best food we had all week.  It was right off the strip and the environment was laid back.

Honeymoon in Vegas (5/9/12)

After walking all day yesterday we decided to buy a bus pass today.  Our first stop was the Outlet Mall.

We also headed to "Old Vegas".  It was kind of scary there.  There were cops standing every few feet.    Everything was a whole lot cheaper there.

Bobby & I on the bus

After we got back to the strip we went sight seeing for a little while.  We had to check out the M & M store.  It was NEAT!

Once it got dark we headed out to see some of the shows that were happening.  Our first stop was The Belligo to see the water show.  While we were waiting for the show to start; we spotted Las Vegas Cops taping an episode.

The water show...

Our next stop was the Mirage to see the volcano

Then we headed back toward the room.  Here is a look at some of the buildings at night.
