Saying Goodbye

Today we headed back to our house one last time to get all the little stuff & clean.  When we arrived we were welcomed by Leo.  He had been attacked yesterday by something and he was pitiful looking.  He stayed in the house with us the whole time we were packing/loading.  One of our wonderful neighbors, Heather, is keeping him so he will be able to run free.  He will be well taken care of and we will still be able to visit him.  We are very thankful that he has many people who love him and will make sure he is given the best.  We will definitely miss him, but will be visiting him often!

Saying Goodbye to a wonderful year and a half full of memories & awesome neighbors.  Looking forward to our next adventure!

Moving Day

Today starts a new chapter in our lives. Just praying I make it through this day with my sanity!   We started our day by putting a new tire on the box truck.

When we got back home I started on Spencer's room.  (I can't find any before pictures)

These were not Spencer's curtains, but the new owners wanted them for the kids room

I also go the downstairs bathroom finished.

When the kids got out of school we headed to BG loaded down.  We got all the big stuff unloaded & placed in the right rooms.  Tomorrow we have to go back & finish getting all the little stuff out of the house.  I didn't realize we had accumulated so much stuff in the last year & a half.

Getting Ready

Today we tried to get everything in a central location so we can start loading up the box truck in the morning.  I got everything taken off the walls.

I got the girls bathroom & bedroom completely finished.

Drywalling

Our room this morning after a long night of hanging drywall.

Finishing up the first coat of mud and waiting for it to dry so we can start sanding

Peanut found him a new favorite spot to sit.

We went to Walmart to pick out paint for our room and the girls room.  I picked out brown for our room.

& pink for the girls room.  They are excited they are going to have "color" in their room.

One Room Complete

Today we started cleaning out rooms.  Harley & Gracie's room was first; since they won't be here all week.

We also took a trip to the woods to show the "new" owners the waterfall.  It is beautiful in the woods & the kids will definitely miss playing down here!

We took a load of stuff with us when we headed to BG.  When we got to mom's we headed to Lowe's to buy the drywall so we could get our room ready.  We hung the drywall & applied the first coat of mud before finally heading to bed around midnight

Moving On

A few weeks ago our landlord called to tell us he was trying to sell our house & he would be bringing someone to look at it later in the week. I was devastated! There was a lot going on & this is not what I needed to add to my plate. Immediately we started looking for some place to move. I didn't want people coming into my home looking to buy it. We looked at several places but couldn't find anything to fit our needs.

We have knew for sometime our house wouldn't be our forever home, but was I really ready to leave. We have made so many memories in our first house together. We even got married in the back yard. We have amazing neighbors, the kids have a huge yard to play in, we are out in the country...so many things we love.

Then one day my hubby called my mom to talk to her about us possibly moving in with her for a while. Mom will retire in a few years & she has always said she wanted to move in with us after she retired. I have always wanted to go back "home" to where I grew up but never had to opportunity arise. So after many talks we decided we would move in with mom for a while to try to save some money we have been "throwing" away thousands of dollars the last year & a half paying rent on something that isn't/wasn't ours. I want to have my own house someday soon. This seemed like a win, win situation. So we decided we would give it a try for a while & see how things go.

We started talking more & more about it & started packing something's we weren't using & took them to storage. All the while waiting to hear if they had sold our house & a date we would have to be out by.

We decided we could start saving money now by going ahead & moving so we kicked into high gear & decided we would be out by the end of the month. We have now taken two loads to storage, have the attic completely cleaned out & another load ready to go to storage. We will be spending this weekend getting moms house ready for us to move in & plan on having everything out by next weekend. This is not how I imagined moving but we feel its best for us right now. I have put my notice in at work so I will be packing, moving & working all while trying to stay sane. It is going to be a crazy, hectic, wild week but I have faith we can do this with minimal chaos. We shall see!
