Buddy & Snowflake (Day 2)

Today Buddy & Snowflake were hanging out on the light in the dining room.

The kids had a little shooting practice after school.  Spencer would shoot his gun everyday if someone would go out with him.  He loves to hunt & shoot.  He has asked for another gun for Christmas.

After supper I made candy to take to Thanksgiving celebrations.  Morgan helped me!

Which turned out really good...everyone loved them!!!

And peanut butter balls (not pictured).  I didn't get to dip them in chocolate because I started getting sick & ended up in the ER. (more to come on this....)

Buddy is BACK!!!!

This morning the kids woke up looking everywhere for Buddy.  The were sure since we had decorated the tree last night that he would come back.  They were a little disappointed when they couldn't find him anywhere.  Santa must have saw their disappointment and decided to send Buddy back while they were at school.  When they came home they were EXCITED to find Buddy....then they realized Buddy had brought someone with him.  Last year they requested Santa send them a girl elf this year.  Buddy brought a girl elf with him and they LOVE her.

Buddy left them a letter in her Elf on the Shelf book...

They decided to name her Snowflake.

Harley & Gracie hung their ornaments on the tree since they weren't here when we decorated it yesterday.

Decorating the Christmas Tree

Today I got the tree put up and ready for the kids to decorate.

When they got off the bus they went to work.  I put the ornaments on that mom had made over the years & then turned the kids loose with the rest of the tree.  This is first year I have ever turned them loose.  They had a blast with it.

The finished tree....

Volcano's Are Erupting

Tonight Spencer had a Science project to do for school. We made the dough to make the base of the volcano & then we added baking soda & vinegar and watched it erupt.

Morgan & Spencer both loved it. They kept putting more baking soda & vinegar in to watch it erupt over & over. They want to do it again soon!!!

Smoky Mountains--Day 1

Friday morning when I got off work we headed to Bobby's Aunt & Uncle's house to pick them up to head to The Smoky Mountains for the weekend.  We had been planning this trip since the end of September, but due to Bobby's dad having two stokes we postponed it until he was in better health.  We didn't want to be 200 miles away with him being in & out of the hospital.  He is now home and is doing well.  He still has a long road of therapy ahead of him.

We got on the road around 7:30 am.  I cat-napped on the way down due to working all night the night before.  We arrived around lunch time.  Our first stop was the knife store.

After spending hours in the knife store we headed to get our room.  We unloaded all our luggage and headed to Cades Cove.

We were not too impressed with Cades Cove.  We could have driven down back roads around the house and saw deer/turkey.  There were some old buildings, but we didn't get out to look at them.

After spending several hours driving we headed back to grab a bite to eat.  The older generation was wore out and wanted to grab something fast food to take back to the room to eat.  We got them some food & got them settled back in their rooms.  Then the hubby & I headed out to eat for his birthday.  We ended up at Fuddrucker's.

After eating we headed back to the room to relax.  Everything was decorated for Christmas & we got to see the beautiful lights all the way back to Gatlinburg.
