Honeymoon In Vegas (5/8/12)

Today was our first full day in Vegas.  We decided to walk up & down the strip to do some sight-seeing. It was HOT...in the upper 90's.  We walked almost 10 miles looking at different sites/buildings & testing our luck on a few slot machines.

Our hotel...it was HUGE.  We kept finding new places every day.

 While walking down the strip you would see anything & everything.  Here are a few of the characters I was able to catch pictures of.  They stood on the strip taking pictures for tips.

Eventful day

We left Louisville airport at 10 am heading to Chicago. The plane was running late so we got a late start. We were on a small plane. It was our first time flying & I was scared to death. I told Bobby when we got to Chicago I wanted to go back home.  From Chicago to Vegas we were on a bigger plane, but I still didn't enjoy flying.

 When we got to the airport to pick up our luggage, mine wasn't there.  I  was not a happy, but they assured me I would have it soon.  So we headed to get our rental car...which turned into another disaster.  Since I don't have full coverage insurance they wanted to charge us a ridiculous amount for each day we had rented the car plus all the fees & taxes.  Needless to say we left without a car...which was OK by me once I saw the traffic on the strip.  We headed to the hotel & got checked into our room.  Then we went to find something to eat, since we were both starving.  We hadn't eaten anything ALL day because we had spent most of the day in the airport.  We had been told it was cheaper to eat in the motels vs eating on the strip. So we headed to the buffet inside our hotel only to find it cost us $80 to eat supper & it wasn't very good. We were both starving again within a few hours.

After eating we took $10 dollars a piece & put it in a slot machine. Bobby lost his money in just a few minutes. I on the other hand took my $10 and turned it into $75.50. We ended up putting the $20 we spent the first time plus $5 back in our pocket & played more slots on our winnings. We ended up loosing it though.

After getting gambling out of our system we decided to venture down the strip & do some sightseeing. Let me tell you there are some weird/crazy people in Vegas. My hubby tried to tell me this was the place people came to let their hair down & have a good time...but it was a little too wild for me. We didn't stay out long because I was hoping my luggage was waiting at the front desk for me, but it wasn't so we headed back to the room.

Today has been a special day for our entire family. I married my best friend; Morgan & Spencer now have a "bonus" dad; and I am now a "bonus" mom to 4 daughters. A special thanks to Chantell & Jackie for allowing me to be such a big part of Haylee, Harley & Gracie's life's!!!!  Life doesn't get much better than this!  Everything turned out absolutely perfect today.  We couldn't have asked for better weather or company.  Everything was exactly as I had imagined.  I will let the picture do the talking.....

Wedding Rehearsal

Today we had rehearsal for the wedding.  It was a learning experience for sure, but we got all the kinks worked out & finally got it the way we wanted it...after about 5 times of going through it.

After rehearsal we went to town to pick up the cakes.  I was VERY nervous about mine, but they both turned out GREAT.

Then the girls got manicure & pedicure's from Meme while Teresa & I finished up wedding stuff.

Everything is ready for us to get up early in the morning & put it all together :)

2 days...

Wow in two days I will be married. Everyone has asked me if I am nervous. No I'm not the least bit nervous about getting married...I feel like we are already married. I am nervous about getting on an airplane & flying Monday morning. Neither one of is has ever flown.

Today will be filled with last minute too do list. I am getting a manicure & pedicure...thanks to the great group of girls I work with.

Then we have a million errands to run. Bobby has taken Peanut to the boarding house. I couldn't go with him because I'm cared I would get upset & breakdown.

After I got my pedicure & manicure we headed to get our marriage licenses :)

Mom is coming up tonight to help get some last minute things done around the house. Tomorrow we have rehearsal at 2 & then I have to go pick my cake up.

This is just a quick update so I can keep track of the days leading up I the wedding.

5 days...

We are getting down to the wire...5 more days until the BIG day!!! I have one more twelve hour shift to work tonight then I'm off for 12 whole days!!!! It has been a great week so far & I hope it continues to be. Monday morning I went back to the doctor & they decided to do another chest x-ray to see how my pneumonia was. Thank goodness my x-ray was clear. I am feeling a lot better. I still have a horrible cough, but the doctor said that would linger for a while.

We still have some last minute things to finish up this week. For the most part all the big stuff is done. We have to pick Bobby's tux up & I have some last minute decorations to finish. It is all coming together nicely though.

The girls at work continue to shower me with gifts. Last night one of the girls gave me money to get my nails done. They are the sweetest :)

The last few days we have had lots of rain & some storms. I hope mother nature gets all the rain out of her system before the weekend. The forecast for the weekend is looking fairly good right now, but it is supposed to be in the high 80's. I just hope it doesn't rain.
