Checkups & Shots

The kids has their annual check ups today. When Dr. Brooks seen us today she asked us where we had been hiding. We hadn't seen her in almost two years. My response was we had been healthy! Aside from Morgan's ear infection a few weeks ago & Spencer's rashes every now & then we have been lucky to not have any major illnesses!!

She confirmed the kids are indeed healthy. Morgan is a little below the percentile for her height & weight. This is something we are going to work on especially since she is fixing to go through a growth spirt. We are going to try PediaSure Sidekicks to give her the extra nutrition she needs. She has always been below the average for her height & weight, but with the onset of puberty she needs extra calories & nutrients to make sure she grows to her full potential & to keep her from getting sick. Spencer has always been above the percentile on height & weight. He is not overweight, but right on tract with his height & weight averaged.

They both had to have shots today too. Morgan had to have two...her flu shot & her second Gardasil. Spencer only had to have his flu shot. Morgan got her exam first & stepped out in the hall while Spencer was getting his exam. They were both going to get their shots together after their exams. While Spencer was getting his exam Morgan knocked on the door to tell me she already got her shots...all by herself & with NO tears!!!

I was in shock because when she got her shots at the first of school I literally had to hold her down & she cried and cried and cried some more. I was SO proud of her!!!! After Spencer's exam he got his shot with NO tears!!! He has always been good with shots because he has always been bribed with milkshakes (thanks to my grandparents).

After leaving the doctor we stopped at Dairy Queen for milkshakes & ice cream.
