Severe Weather

Today started out early for everyone at our house. Bobby got up at 2 am due to sever weather in our area. He watched the weather while everyone else slept. He woke us up around 4 am and we headed to town to the basement.  On the way to town they issued a Tornado Warning for our county.  Spencer started flipping out.  He has always been terrified of storms, but we assured him we still had time to get to the basement.  We were approximately 10 minutes ahead of the storm.  We got to the basement just before the wind hit.  We didn't have any tornado's, just strong wind and rain.  The school system decided to run school on a two hour delay due to the storms.

After the main line went through we headed back home. We got home around 6 am and all headed back to bed for a few hours before the kids had to go to school.

When we woke up I had a missed call from my grandma.  A possible tornado had went through my hometown and my dad's house had some damage.  I called everyone to check on them and everyone was safe.  My dad had some damage at his house, but nothing major.  He was unable to go out and survey the damage due to his recent surgery, but he had several people come check things out for him and clean some of the mess up.

Later in the afternoon they confirmed a tornado had hit with 120-125 mph winds.  A few miles down the road it leveled buildings/barns, so they were very lucky to only have minor damage.
