Goodbye May...HELLO JUNE

Today is the last day of May 2011 and it has been one BUSY, EMOTIONAL month!!!  I have waited 5 years for this month to get here & I still don't think I was prepared for all the emotions it would bring with it.  I think I experienced every emotion possible the last 31 days :)  There were moments I thought I couldn't go any longer or farther, moments I thought I was having a mental breakdown, moments of excitement, moments of happiness, moments of sadness, moments of "is this really happening"...LOTS of moments.  I think with everything that has happened in the month of May I have held it together "fairly" well.

A little recap of the month:

  • DANCE RECITAL...this is always a fun, exciting production to watch.  The girls & Mrs. Jessica put a lot of time & hard work into this.  This is a way for the girls to show off what they have learned & to watch them  improve from year to year.  (Blogged about it HERE & HERE)
  • FINALS....ALWAYS a dirty word for a nursing student (or at least me)...because I always like to ride that dreaded line & go into finals hoping for the best...but that doesn't take away the stress & anxiety that rides on the ONE test.  I guess I lived up to the statement "3rd times a CHARM"  Three out of the four semester I went into finals on the line & always pulled myself out of it :) (Blogged about it HERE)
  • GRADATION/PINNING...that was a very emotional day.  Happiness, sadness, nervousness...I tried to take it all in and enjoy the day.  It was the end of one chapter of my life & the beginning of so many things for my children and me.  (Blogged about it HERE & HERE)
  • BIRTHDAY...My oldest turned 10, which brought sadness because there is NO way she should be this old & it brought excitement for the future to watch her grow into a young lady. (Blogged about it HERE)
  • HOT RODS GAME...Jessica's Dance & Tumbling Studio dance before the Hot Rods game.  This was the first time they had ever done this & it was an amazing night.  WAY TO MAKE METCALFE SHINE GIRLS.  (Blogged about it HERE)
I am happy to see May go & looking for to June.  June is always a busy, crazy and hectic month for us.  Here are a some of the things going on in June.

  • Relay for Life--Morgan's Girl Scout Troop will be passing out medallions & flowers
  • Swimming Lessons--The kids LOVE swimming lessons & I enjoy watching see how much they learn each year.  The first year Spencer started he wouldn't even put his head under water.  He hated water in his eyes.  Last year he finally jumped off the diving board...such a HUGE improvement they have made in only two years.  I look forward to seeing the new things they learn this year.
  • My birthday--It's not very exciting once you start getting older...I will be 31 this year.  I hope 31 is better to me than 30 was.  Thirty was the most chaotic, crazy, stressful year so far.  Please 31 play nice ;)
  • Baseball--Baseball will end this month & this means my "baby" will move up to live arm next year :(  Morgan would have moved up this year, but she didn't play...maybe next year
  • NCLEX--I hope to take my NCLEX this month....and PASS it the first time....we will see
  • JOB--I need to start looking SOON!!!  The law changed June 8th, so I will be submitting my application for my license & NCLEX....then start job hunting.  I am excited to see what God has in store for me!
Tonight Spencer had his first 6:00 ballgame & boy was it HOT!  The boys all looked like they were wore out & not interested in playing ball.  The good thing about an early game is I got some good pictures :)  Here are a few of them....

This summer I would love to learn more about my camera.  I haven't had a lot of time to mess around with the different settings.  I love taking photographs and would like to start doing it more.  We will see if I can work that into my schedule this summer.
